Hello all !
My, my ! it has been a long time . . .
Thank you all for waiting for me.
It is about time I show you some of the things I have been up to these 2 months.
First, I managed to finish my daughter's
y-shirt yarn rug and put it in her bedroom, and I have to say I'm more than pleased with it.
In this picture above I was just weaving in ends. . .
And this above are the colours . . . plus baby blue and cream I will be using to make my son a similar rug.
My daughter and son share the bedroom. It was 2 bedrooms but we knocked down the dividing wall and made it into just one room and so they have plenty of space to play.
My daughter's 'side' is very feminine and my 'son's' side is more into the blues, I'm just traditional that way. When they grow up we will separate them again and let them have their own space and privacy, but for the time being they are more than delighted to share.
In 2014 I started knitting again. I had learned as a kid to knit/purl and that was it.
Now I'm totally addictive and have tried already different techniques such as circular knitting and double pointed needles knitting. . .
I made myself these mittens, with 4 DPNs
Nice huh ?
I also made some hexagons. . .there are times that
I just crave for hand stitching and hexagons are just perfect for those times. . .
I still don't know what they will become: a cushion, a purse, a wallet. . .
And this is the progress on my daughter's cotton blanket. . .
I also wiped up very quickly a pencil case for
my daughter and tried the intarsia technique in crochet
And finally, this is what I'm doing now. . .
I'm making myself an Outlander inspired cowl.
It is very simple, just a rectangle in garter stitch and then join both ends to make a tube.
The needles used are straight traditional needles
and you can find them in my little yarn shop.
Many of you still don't know I have a little yarn and needles Etsy shop,
Why don't you peak a look ?
You might find yourself an early Christmas present !!

Hi Eva! I love all of it especially the rug and your daughter's room. It looks like it is from a magazine. I really need to make myself fingerless gloves. One of the schools I work in is so cold. Your hexies are beautiful. What wonderful fabrics! Great to see a post from you.
