French Magazines & Country Homes and Interiors

Hello ladies !
Today, as promised (Christine you put the pressure on me :-) rightly so, as otherwise this would have ended up as lost post that never made it to daylight) I will show you what magazines I got in France, but also one of my favorite English magazines as there is a crafty part in it.

My lovely husband had to go to London two weeks ago and so I asked him for Country Homes & Interiors magazine, as this was something he could easily get me at the airport.
And although I have had it for 2 weeks and I have never managed to not look inside a magazine immediately, this time I could hold myself and wait.
Last night I wanted a bit of comfort easy reading, snuggled up in bed and luckily for me on the first few pages there was a crochet section !! (I say luckily as after these pages I could no longer keep my eyes open)

Hola  a todas !

And so this is it !!
Lots of lovely ideas, and look at that OMG vintage Singer table !!

Then, at the crafty section they do every month there was also ideas on how to re-use old woolly jumpers. Nice !

And now the craft magazines I got in France over Christmas.

I got this one as it seems everybody is talking about the Hardanger embroidery technique. But as looked closely it seemed a familiar embroidery to me. So I asked my mum if she knew this method and she said matter of factly: Of course ! these are 'vainicas' , that she has been making since she was a child. So there you go, I went to bed that night having learnt something new.

This is the back of the magazine with all the lovely projects.

This one is called Couture Creative and it has 26 bag patterns and how to make them, etc.

This one below has some assorted projects of crochet, knitting, patchwork, etc

This one below called Crochet Creatif is packed with projects to make for children, if you like that style, I'm not very fond of the designs shown but there you go !

And the back of the magazine. . .

Y la contraportada . . .

This below I got it as it came with freebies !! thread, needles and some fabric. I'm hoping to make a quilt one of these days . . . sometime in my life I have to say.

This one below is to sew and make some softies . . . some are cute

. . algunos son monos

And the last one is about Cartonnage which is basically covering up boxes with fabric. This is something I always wanted to learn and there is a place in my town where they do workshops, so who knows ??

Some of these magazines came as a bundle of 2 but I cant remember anymore which ones so I commented on each separately.

I also bought a book but it is soooo pretty that it deserves a post of its own.

This is all for today

Hope you enjoyed it !!

Love,
Eva

Besitos,
Eva

  1. Thank you for showing these. It is funny you posted this today because I went and bought a Marie Claire Idees today (the Christmas one). Country Homes and Interiors is one of my favorite English magazines (along with Country Living). I usually get them a little late but am looking forward to it just for the pages you showed. I want that vintage sewing table.

And I love all the French magazines. I have never heard of hardanger but I have not done much embriodery so far. You have a lot of magazines. They look so pretty. Thanks for sharing them.

And just to let you know I wrote back about the music box jumper under your comment on my blog. I tried to email you about it but couldn't find your email.
