Hello all !
I have been shopping . . . just a little bit.
Back in July I saw a few projects made with Paris yarn by DropsGarn Studio and I could not get it out of my mind.
When I went to check the colors I saw it was on sale during July only and so as I had to go to town, I checked for a store that stocked Paris yarn and found one.
I already had in mind to make another blanket for my son and daughter.
I wrote down the colors I wanted and set off to buy them.
In that store they did not have all the colours for my daughter's blanket and so I got these ones:
Only these will go to my daughter's blanket, along with the pinks they did not have in stock:
And the rest will go to my son's blanket.
I bought each skein (50 grs) at 1.30 euros each (normal prices is 2.00 euros each).
When I came back from France I thought as the offer lasted until 31st July, I should buy as many as possible and then the rest I will buy them at normal price in September when they re-stock.
And so I got this pack yesterday by courier from an online store in Spain:
and in total I have all this yarn:
Which they did not have in any of the stores. . . and I now don't know if I will not use it in the end and I use the colors I have or wait until September and see if I do get it in the end. . . hummm, cannot decide. . .
And the right half of the lot are for my son's blanket:
Again, here I'm missing a turquoise blue, number 02:
And . . . again cannot decide whether to leave it or wait until I get it. . .
What do you think ? Should I wait for both and add them ?
I dont think I got enough yarn in the end. . . I never seem to know how much I will need.
Do you ?
The other thing I cannot decide is on the pattern.
I have been looking in Pinterest for inspiration and I'm torn between and African flower afgan or sunburst square or just simple squares in different colors.
How do you see these colors used in a blanket ? Any ideas ? suggestions ?
The decision I have finally taken is that I will from now on write the blog only in English. I'm sorry as my mother will be the first one not being able to read it but I really, really cannot do it in 2 languages anymore, something has to go. . .
I truly hope my Spanish readers can understand. . .
And last. . . I also bought this from the Madrid Cath Kidston store, during the sales.
The 2 boxes were 10 euros (for both) and the measuring tape (which I did not need. . . ) was 3.80 euros, not bad . . .
HAVE A LOVELY WEEKEND !

what gorgeous yarn!!!!! I really enjoyed seeing all of it. The colors are so soft and dreamy. In making a decision about which patterns. Is there something in their room that would help you decide. I haven't even started my daughter's blanket yet but I know I will do stripes because her quilt (when it is finished) will be squares and I thought it would be better to mix it up. And I love seeing the Cath Kidston you bought. I have been wanting that measuring tape (also not needed) for so long. You are making me want to shop.
ReplyDeleteOlá Eva, you have so many work to do with so many beautiful yarns.Lovely colours too! The Cath Kidston boxes are really gorgeous!

Lovely yarn, Eva, and I love the combinations of colours, both the blues and the pinks. Both blankets will be very pretty, I'm sure :)
ReplyDeleteAbout your decicion to write your blog in English only, I certainly understand. I have been thinking about doing the same thing. I write my blog in two languages too, and it takes a lot of time, and I seem to be writing less than I want to sometime.
Hope you are enjoying your summer :)
Hilde.
Hola Eva! Silvia
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful blog Eva! I am glad you found my blog so I could find you. :-) Thank you for the sweet comment.
ReplyDeleteYour yarn is downright breathtaking!!! The colors you have already chosen look nice to together and I say if you are excited about starting then go for it with these colors.
One can never have too much yarn!
Hola Eva. Besos
ReplyDeleteI love your purchases - I've recently bought some drops Paris yarn - looking forward to seeing your blanket. Lovely blog Sue x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colours. I always seem to come up short with the yarns I need too so I hope you got your preferred colours in the end.
ReplyDeleteHola Eva,
DeleteTe contesto por email.
Saludos,
Eva
Hola Eva,
ReplyDeleteMe encantan tus labores tan coloridas!!
Eva
