Felt Purse - Soo Pretty and Cute ! and you can make it too (link to the Tutorial)

Hello !! And thanks for all the sweet comments in my previous posts and for reading me. 

I dont know about you but I just LOVE reading posts of the blogs I follow and it makes me happy when I see a new post !! 

Here I got with mine. 

Today I want to share with you my first sewing project. I made this last year, around March 2012 but I did not have a blog yet. 

I got interested in felt at the time and saw this project in a super-cute blog by Sarah, Paper and String. She has several felt tutorials, and they are very well explained. 

At the time I did not have a clue on how to sew a zipper and a little bit scared of it too. This project got me over that zipper fear and it came out really cute too !! You can find the tutorial here.

Hola ! Gracias a todas por los comentarios que me habéis dejado en las entradas anteriores y por leerme !!

Supongo que a vosotras os pasa igual, pero a mi me ENCANTA leer nuevas entradas de los blogs que sigo y me pongo contenta cuando veo una entrada nueva !!

Esta es mi entrada de hoy. 

Quiero compartir con vosotras mi primer proyecto de costura. Lo hice el año pasado, en Marzo 2012 pero aun no tenia un blog para compartirlo. 

Me empece a interesar por el fieltro y vi este proyecto tan mono en este bonito blog de Sarah, Paper and String. Hay varios tutoriales para hacer cosas con fieltro y esta muy bien explicado. 

Tampoco tenia ni idea de como coser una cremallera y ademas me daba algo de respeto, lo veia dificilisimo. Pero este tutorial me enseño a poner la cremallera y atreverme con otros proyectos mas tarde. Que os parece ??.

Stash-Busting: Finished Shawl & Weekend Pictures

Hello !! Did you have a nice weekend ? 

- I hope you did.

Yesterday I finally finished this shawl with the yarn I bought in Lisbon.

And I say finally because in the little craft time I had in the last 3 weeks I probably would have made 6 shawls !! How come ? - because I made lots of mistakes along the way. . . either missed a double crochet, or made 2 where I should had only made one, etc. First I used a hook size 4 but I was not liking how it was looking (I had already made the 23 rounds of the pattern repeat. . .) so I started again with a hook size 6. 

Hola ! Habéis pasado un buen fin de semana ? 

- Espero que si. . . 

Ayer finalmente termine el chal que me estaba haciendo 

con la lana que compre en Lisboa.

Y digo finalmente porque con el poco tiempo que he tenido en las ultimas 3 semanas hubiera hecho 6 chales !! Como ?? Si no hubiera cometido todos los errores que hice. 

Si no me salte un punto, hice dos donde no debía, etc. 

El primero fue usar una aguja del 4 y cuando ya llevaba 23 vueltas no me gustaba, lo deshice y empece de nuevo con una del 6. 

Mostly I made mistakes in the repeat pattern. 

Last Thursday evening I was counting the final round stitches and the total should come to 170 but I only had 167 (and I probably said the 'crap' (pardon my french) word 167 times too). As I could not see where I had made the mistake I had to count the stitches in each round until I found the mistake. I had to undo the whole thing up until round 6 (the pattern repeat is 23 rounds). 

La mayoría de los errores han sido en el patron repetido (vuelta 1 a 23). 

El Jueves por la noche en la vuelta numero 23 conte los puntos que tenia, debía haber 170 y yo solo tenia 167 !! 

Como no podia ver donde había cometido el error tuve que contar los puntos en cada vuelta hasta que encontré que el error estaba en la vuelta 6, os podéis imaginar la frustración. . .

As I got more time in the evenings then I made it again and on Saturday morning I only had to make the border which is around 6 more rounds (each of them different). 

The border was the quickest part.

Como poco a poco iba teniendo mas tiempo por las noches volví a hacer desde la vuelta  6 y el sábado ya solo me quedaba el borde que son unas 6 vueltas (cada una diferente).

Y el borde fue bastante rápido. 

Now the shawl is finished, it looks shorter than I would have liked, and with less wraparound I would have liked too (I made the Long Version with 7 panels) but I did not have the energy anymore to start again and try to add more stitches and adapt the pattern. 

Ahora que el chal esta terminado, es mas corto de lo que me hubiera gustado y con menos vuelo  o circunferencia tambien (hice la Long Version con 7 paneles)pero ya no tenia ni ganas, ni energia para volver a hacerlo, añadir otro panel y adaptar el patron para hacerlo mas largo. . . 

This is my first shawl after all, so I guess I have learned a few lessons with it. 

I followed the pattern for the All Shawl pattern in Raverly. 

All in all it came out lovely and I have enjoyed making it, although I missed working with all the colors from my blanket making. 

Después de todo este es mi primer chal y he aprendido algunas lecciones haciendolo. 

El patron es All Shawl de Raverly. 

Ha quedado muy bonito y he disfrutado haciendolo, aunque he echado de menos trabajar con todos los colores de mi manta.

Sweet Crochet Flower : TUTORIAL

I have dared to make a tutorial of a very simple flower I made to embellish the crocheted mobile case I made for Mother's Day last week.

Me he atrevido a hacer el tutorial de esta sencilla flor que hice para adornar la funda de móvil que hice para el Dia de la Madre la semana pasada. 

If you read my last post you could see that I got the inspiration from the blog A World of Imagination and the pattern for the case itself. You can also find a similar pattern here, in Issuu, a great find if you don't already know it. You can find magazines and free e-books. 

Si habéis leido mi ultima entrada visteis que la inspiración vino del blog A World of Imagination asi como el patron para la funda. Tambien podeis encontrar un patron parecido aqui (aunque en ingles). Isuu es muy útil y os animo a que echéis un vistazo. 

Para las que no entendéis ingles el patrón es basicamente hacer una cadeneta alrededor de tu móvil para ver el tamaño que necesitáis. Una vez la tengáis es hacer filas consecutivas de punto bajo hasta llegar al numero de vueltas que os haga falta para que cubra la longitud del móvil. Se cosen la costura de la parte de la cadeneta y el lateral con una aguja de lana y la misma lana utilizada. Luego se hace el borde que consta de 3 puntos bajos en un mismo punto, repitiendo esto en toda la vuelta. 

You can also use the Sweet Flower to adorn hair clips or hair bands, etc, bags, purses, garlands, etc, etc. 

Also in my last post I mentioned that for the leaves I followed Attic24 May Roses pattern. 

También podeis usar la Sweet Flower para adornar pinzas de pelo, gomas o diademas, bolsos, carteras, banderolas, etc

También en mi ultima entrada mencione que para hacer las hojas use el patrón de Attic24, May Roses. 

The Sweet Flower is reeeelly simple  and I've hesitated a lot about doing this tutorial, again,  but then I thought that even if it's really easy it might be of good use to someone who is learning to crochet. I hope it does help some of you and that you all like it. 

Esta flor es muuuuy sencilla y he tenido mis dudas sobre si hacer o no un tutorial, de nuevo, pero después pensé que aunque es muy fácil le puede venir bien a alguien que este aprendiendo. Espero que le sirva a alguien y que os guste a todas. 

First make a slip knot

Empieza con un nudo corredizo

Make 6 chain stitches

Haz 6 puntos de cadeneta

Slip stitch  in the first chain stitch you made, where I have my yarn needle.

Cierra la cadeneta con un punto bajo en la primera cadeneta, donde señalo con mi aguja de lana.

Now make 15 single crochet (U.S) or double crochet  (UK) in the circle created with the 6 chain stitches. 

Ahora haz 15 puntos enanos alrededor del circulo formado por la cadeneta de 6  puntos.

 It should look like this (picture above).  

Debería quedar como la foto de arriba.

Slip stitch in the first SC (DC for UK) you made in the round.

Cierra el circulo con un punto enano en el primer punto bajo que hiciste en la vuelta.

Make 3 chain stitches. 
(Sorry about this picture above, not sure why it came out so 'different')

Haz 3 puntos de cadeneta.
(Perdon por la foto de arriba no se porque ha salido tan 'diferente)

Skip one, and slip stitch into the next. . . 

Saltate un punto y une la cadeneta al circulo de puntos bajos con un punto enano

 Now make 3 chain stitches and slip stitch into the second one, 7 more times.
We should get 8 chain 3 spaces that will be the base of our petals. 

(Please note that it also looks nice with only 6 petals, so feel free to make just 6 or 8 as you like)

    Ahora haz 3 cadenetas y unelas al circulo con un punto enano en el segundo punto, repite 7 veces.
Debemos tener 8 espacios de cadenetas de 3, que serán la base para los pétalos. 

(También queda bonita con 6 pétalos, así que puedes hacer 6 u 8 pétalos, como mas te guste)

Once you finish all the chain 3 spaces, slip stitch into the first chain of the first chain 3 set you made in the circle. 

Una vez acabes de hacer todas las cadenetas de 3, une la ultima con un punto enano a la primera cadeneta del primer set de 3 que hiciste en el circulo. 

 Now we are ready to start our petals

Ahora estamos preparadas para empezar los pétalos 

 Insert the hook into the first chain 3 space and do: 1 SC (DC for UK), 3 DC (3 trebles for UK), 1 SC

En cada espacio de 3 cadeneta, haz lo siguiente: 1 P.Bajo, 3 Altos, 1 P.bajo

And repeat this into each chain 3 spaces. You should get 8 petals in total. 

Repite esto en cada espacio de 3 cadenetas. Deberás tener 8 pétalos al final

Finish with a slip knot into the first SC you made for the first petal. 

Termina con un punto enano en el primer punto bajo que hiciste para hacer el primer pétalo.  

Now you have your flower. Fasten off and wave in the ends. 

The size of your flower will depend on the yarn you use and the hook size. 

If you see anything wrong with this pattern or the tutorial please let me know, this is the first crochet tutorial I've ever made and so it is far from perfect. 

Ya tienes la flor. Ahora corta la hebra y remata.

El tamaño de la flor dependerá de la lana que utilizes y el numero de aguja. 

Si veis que algo no va con el tutorial por favor decidmelo, este es el primer tutorial de ganchillo que hago y esta lejos de ser perfecto.

Stash-Busting for Mother's Day

Dear readers, 

Wow ! it seems like ages I don't blog, but it's been a week, and that is ages to me. 
Well there was all sort of things, travelling for work, my 2 children have been sick (with a bad cold, throat infection) since Friday last week, a trip to ER with my daughter at night (nothing serious but she had had temperature for 3 days and she got a nasty rash all over that night) and we just felt it had to be checked out. 

Now, that was a bit of a nervous trip for me. My baby was sleeping and so we decided my husband stayed with him and I went to hospital with my daughter. Something you dont know yet about me is that I am not a confident driver and I had never before driven at night and the motorway seems to be still a challenge for me. I do take it but just to go 2 exits further (where the Supermarket is, etc). 
The hospital is only 5 mins away from where we live, but if I took the motorway and so I did. 
It may seem silly but that was a challenge for me. 

In the end everything was fine we made it to the hospital and back home, and the pediatrician said that it might have been a rash provoked by the infection in the throat or else allergy to the antibiotics she was on. She changed the antibiotics to a different one and my daughter has improved greatly now. 
And the whole experience must have not been too bad as she wanted to go to hospital again the night after. . . So all in all, the lack of sleep, trying to catch up with work, children needing more attention, etc 
I barely got chance to check out other blogs, which I did but in very small doses and I neglected mine due to lack to energy. 


But now everything is kind of getting back to normality and routine (which I love, I love routine. . . ) 
Today is Mother's Day in Spain (the first Sunday of May) and I managed to squeeze in some crafty time between Friday night and last night and made my mum these two cuties. 

Queridas Lectoras, 

Madre Mia ! Parece que llevo una eternidad sin acercarme por mi blog, aunque solo ha sido una semana, pero es mucho tiempo para mi.

Hahabido de todo esta semana, viaje por trabajo, mis 2 peques malitos (con un mal resfriado y placas en la garganta) desde el viernes de la semana psada, un viaje a Urgencias con mi hija por la noche (nada serio pero llevaba 3 dias con fiebre y la salio un sarpullido que no nos gustaba ) y pensamos que era merjor que la viera el medico.

Ese fue un viaje con una dosis de nervios para mi. Mi bebe estaba durmiendo asi que decidimos que mi marido se quedaba con el y yo llevaba a la niña al hospital. Algo que aun no sabeis de mi es que no soy una conductora segura de mi misma, y nunca habia conducido de noche, sola y en la autovia y fue un reto para mi. Si, tomo la autovia a veces pero solo para ir dos salidas mas alla (que es donde esta el Super). El hospital solo esta a 5 mins de mi casa por la autovia, asi que alla que fui yo.
Puede que os parezca una tontería pero para mi fue un reto. . .

Al final todo fue bien, llegamos al hospital y volvimos a casa y el pediatra dijo que podia ser un sarpullido ocasionado por la misma infeccion o bien una alergia a los antibioticos. Asi que me cambio el antiobiotico por otro y mi hija ha mejorado muchisimo.

La experiencia no ha debido ser tan mala para ella ya que queria ir al hospital de nueva la noche siguiente !!
Todo junto, la falta de sueño, intentar ponerme al dia con el trabajo, los niños necesitando mas atencion, etc casi no he tenido tiempo de mirar otros blogs, lo cual he hecho pero en pequeñas dosis y abandone mi blog por falta de energia.

Todo esta volviendo a la normalidad y rutina (me encanta la rutina . . .)

Hoy es el Dia de la Madre en España (el primer Domingo de Mayo) y entre el viernes y ayer por la  noche conseguí hacer estas monadas para mi madre...

A pin cushion like the one I made when I started blogging and I will make a tutorial of how to make it as I have to make another one for me. They are really easy to make and quick too. . . 

And a crocheted mobile phone cover, isn't it cute ? I have been thinking of making one like this for a while but the final inspiration came about 2 weeks ago from Deb's blog (A World of Imagination).
She made cute tissue covers she thought they would also be good as mobile phone covers. 

I first made the cream one for myself as a test last week and then the pink one is for my mum. 

Un alfiletero como el que hice cuando empece el blog y del cual haré un tutorial de como hacerlo ya que tengo que hacer otro para mi. Son muy fáciles y rápidos de hacer . . .

Y también una funda para móvil hecha a ganchillo, no es preciosa ? He querido hacer una de estas por algún tiempo pero la inspiración final vino hace unas 2 semanas desde el Blog de Deb (A World of Imagination).
Ella hizo fundas para pañuelos de papel o tisis pero también pensó que serian buenas para móviles.

Primero hize la de color crema para mi como prueba la semana pasada y luego la rosa es para mi madre.

The pattern for the cover itself is really easy and I followed hers. I tried to change the SC (uk DC) for             HDC (uk HTC) but I did not like the result and so I stuck to the original pattern. For the border I also followed her pattern. 

For the flower, I did not have the book she mentions and I tried to put a flower that I'm using for my daughters blanket but it did not look right. So I made it up. Again, although I made a few of the flowers I did not write the pattern so I think I might write a tutorial with the pattern, coming soon. 

For the leaf, I used the leaf from the May Roses tutorial at Attic 24 (a blog of reference for me).
One day I will also use her roses for some project as they are just sooo cute. . .

So, to all the mothers that live in Spain: Happy Mother's Day !! And to the rest Happy Day and Week too wherever you are !! 

El patron para la funda es muy facil y segui el patron de Deb. Intente cambiar el punto bajo por uno medio alto pero no me gusto el resultado así que seguí el patrón original. Para el borde también seguí su patrón.

Para la flor, no tengo el libro que ella menciona e intente poner una de las flores que estoy usando para la manta de mi hija pero no quedaba bien. Así que me invente una flor. De nuevo, aunque hize algunas flores no escribí el patrón  así que creo que haré un tutorial de como hacerla, aunque es muy sencilla.

Para las hojas use la del tutorial de las May Roses de Attic 24 (un blog de referencia para mi)
Un dia usare las rosas para algún proyecto porque me encantan . . .

Así que a todas las madres de España: Feliz Día de la Madre !!! y al resto Feliz Dia y Feliz Semana donde quiera que estéis !!
