Hoy os quiero enseñar lo ultimo que he hecho, estos mini-corazones de crochet.

Today I want to show you the last thing I have made, this stuffed mini-hearts. 

He utilizado este patrón, pero lo he modificado un pelin y es  que después de la vuelta 2 donde tenemos un total de 6 puntos se une la primera cadeneta con la ultima para cerrar el circulo y luego a partir de ahí he trabajado en circulo.

I have used the pattern from this blog but I have modified a tiny bit. Just after round 2 where the total stitches should be 6 I have done a slip stitch to join the circle together and from then on I have worked in rounds. 

 He intentado hacer este corazón a través de videos de YouTube, y otros dos tutoriales al menos de otros blogs, pero no me han funcionado o no me convencía del todo el patrón.

I have tried to make this heart with different YouTube videos and blog tutorials but they did not work for me, some were too big, others were done in 3 parts, to me this was the easiest I have found. 

El beige esta hecho el primero, se nota eh ? y ademas he usado una lana mas gordita y el rosa esta hecho con la misma lana que mi ultima mantita de ganchillo, podéis ver las lanas aquí. El rosa ha quedado mas pequeñito y mas mono para mi gusto. Los usos que se les puede dar a estos corazones son innumerables !!

I first made the cream one, you can tell . . .and I used a thicker yarn and the pink one is made with the same yarn I;m using for this crochet blanket I'm making. the pink one is smaller and cute. they can be used in so many ways !!

North of France / Norte de Francia

Como empezar ?? - Si, creo que empezare por el principio, será una buena idea. 

How can I start ?? - Oh ! yes, I think I will start from the beginning, it would be a good idea. 

Como (creo que) pone en mi perfil, mi marido es Frances, del Norte para ser mas exactos, así que vamos a Francia al menos 2 veces al año, cada año. 

I think it says in my profile that my lovely husband is French, from the North to be exact, and so we go to France at least twice a year, every year. 

Yo lo disfruto muchísimo, os podeis imaginar, siempre hay alguna tradición que descubrir , algún nuevo plato que probar, algún pueblo o ciudad que visitar y todo (o casi) es nuevo para mi. 

I enjoy it soooo much. There is always a new tradition to discover, a new dish to try, some village or city to visit and everything (or almost) is new to me.

Allí, la extranjera soy yo, y me encanta. 

Over there, I am the foreigner, and I love it. 

Y es que mi marido siempre me ha dicho que una de las razones por las que no quiere vivir en Francia es porque le gusta ser extranjero... y a mi eso me viene muy bien, para que mentir!

My husband has always told me one of the reasons he does not want to live in France is because he likes being a foreigner...and it suits me fine, to be honest ! 

Nos encanta Francia, adoramos Francia y el idioma. Así que cuando vamos a visitar a la 'famille' de Francia pues siempre que podemos aprovechamos para escapar a algún sitio cercano y esta vez fue Lille. 

We love France, we adore the language and the country, so each time we go to visit 'la famille' we enjoy discovering some place near them, and this time it was Lille. 

Una ciudad llena de encantos.

Y encima tuve la suerte de que había aun un mercado Navideño, yo que creía que ya los habían quitado porque era pasado el día 26 cuando fuimos.

And I got lucky as I did not expect to see a Christmas Market as it always already after  the 26th Dec, but there it was . . .

No era muy grande pero tenia su encanto. . .

It was a small market but charming . . .

Y paramos a tomar un chocolate frances en Le Pain Quotidien . . . un cafe con desayunos excelentes y un ambiente cálido y acogedor.

Then we had a break and did one of the things we love most as a family, have a hot chocolate, this time a french one and in a nice coffee place called Le Pain Quotidien

Y ahí acabo nuestro delicioso y relajado paseo ya que empezó a llover, y luego a diluviar !! así que cogimos a nuestras dos pequeñas personas y echamos a correr hacia algún sitio para refugiarnos.

And our lovely and relaxing stroll ended as it started to rain, then poured. So we took our two little people and run as fast as possible to find refuge.

A mi lo que mas me fastidio es que me hubiera encantado haber podido enseñaros mas tiendecitas y boulangeries pero tuve que guardar la cámara porque era fisicamente imposible hacer mas fotos, no me quedaban manos para ello y la lluvia las hubiera arruinado de todas formas.

It was quite nagging for me as I had hoped to take more pictures and show little quaint and quirky shops and boulangeries etc but I could not physically take any pictures as I had no hands left for the task.

Como en verano estuve en el Sur de Francia, espero poder ponerlo pronto en el blog y enseñaros otro rincón de ese bello pais.

As in summer we were in the South of France I hope to show you the pictures of that part of France soon.

Roscón de Reyes . . . The Three Wise Men Cake . . .

Ya se acabo todo . . . bueno, me refiero a las fiestas Navideñas, es un sabor un tanto agridulce. En España se acaba con la fiesta que os comente el otro día de los Reyes Magos llegando el día 6 cargados de juguetes para los peques y el desayuno tradicional del día de Reyes es el Roscón, para muchos el Rey en si mismo del día. La verdad es que solo esta disponible unos días antes y solo para esas fechas, así que tenemos que esperar un año para volver a tenerlo. Las pastelerías en España trabajan esa noche toda la noche para tenerlos listos por la mañana.

And the party is over . . .well, I mean the festive season and it leaves a kind of sweet and sour taste in the mouth, at least for me. In Spain we finished with the Three Wise Men day (others call it Epiphany day or Little Christmas). The three wise men bring presents (mainly to children) and then the family together have a traditional breakfast where we have Roscon de Reyes, a traditional cake  with a citrus aroma as orange flower water is used to make it. It is normally only available a few days before and after the 6th of January, then we have to wait until next year to have it again. Bakeries work all night on the 5th of January and some nights before due to the high demand. 

Por suerte mi madre es una artista en hacer bollos y el roscón nos lo hace ella, en casa.
Ha utilizado esta receta. Para las que no conocéis este bollo tipico porque seáis de fuera de España, tiene un aroma citrico ya que el tradicional suele llevar agua de azahar. Se puede comer relleno de nata montada o sin relleno.
Y lo acompañamos de un buen chocolate caliente tradicional español, en mi casa usamos Valor.

We are lucky my mum is quite an artist at baking and she makes this cake for us, at home. 
She used this recipe (sorry is only in Spanish). It can filled with whipped cream or just plain. And a must is to have it with a good traditional Spanish hot chocolate, in my family we use Valor (a brand).

Hello everyone and HAPPY NEW YEAR !

La verdad es que durante las vacaciones no me ha dado tiempo a crear cosas nuevas, solo a avanzar un poco en la manta de ganchillo.

To be honest during the holidays I did not have much time to create any new things, I could only make some progress with the granny blanket I am making. 

Os queria enseñar sin embargo lo ultimo que hice en 2012 que fue una falda para mi peque de 4 años. Necesitaba una falda roja para la función del cole así que pensé que era la oportunidad perfecta para lanzarme a hacer una.

However, I wanted to show you the last thing I made in 2012, a skirt for my 4 year old daughter. She needed a red skirt for the school show, so I thought it was the perfect occasion to have a go and make it myself. 

Hubo alguna que otra frustración en el camino, mucho estrés ya que a 2 días de la función me quedaba casi todo por hacer y solo las noches (a partir de las 10pm) para hacerla. Menos mal que mi madre estaba en casa esos días y me pudo ayudar. El frunce fue lo que mas problemas me dio. Use este tutorial que hay en el blog de Sew Mamma Sew, donde las explicaciones vienen muy claras, aunque en ingles.

There were some frustrating moments in the making, lots of stress as 2 days before the show I still had no skirt and little time to sew, only the nights (from 10pm to be precise). 
Luckily for me my mum was staying with us those days and she gave me a hand. 

The gathering of the skirt was the most difficult part. I used this skirt sew along from the lovely and very useful blog of Sew Mamma Sew where it is very clearly explained.

Yo queria una falda que no fuera para un día solo sino que luego se la pudiera poner cualquier otro día.Así que compre un paño rojo muy bonito y para el día de la función le cosí unas lentejuelas en forma de flor, luego se las quite para que la use normalmente.

I wanted it to be a skirt that she could wear on a normal day too, not just for the show. So I bought a wool fabric, similar to a tweed but red and for the show I sewed some sequins so that it had some sparkle at the show. I later removed them and so the skirt could be used again. 

Os enseño también la tiara, diadema que la tuve que hacer, que no quedo mal del todo. Tenia que ser brillante, en rojo y blanco y con plumas.

Here is also the 'tiara' I made. It had to be red and white, with feathers and glittery. 

Por lo demás os ire enseñando mas cositas en los próximos dias. Cosas que hice en 2012 antes de empezar el blog y fotos de donde he estado en Navidad, el Norte de Francia.

I will show you more things in the next few days, things I made in 2012 before I started to blog about. Also pictures of the place I was at Christmas, the North of France.

También estoy ya preparando los tutoriales de ganchillo, que llevan un montón de trabajo, sobre todo de fotos, etc, espero tener las primeras lecciones listas antes del fin de Enero, ya os avisare de todas formas.

I am also working on the crochet tutorials, they are very laborious, with lots of pictures to edit, etc. I hope to have the first lessons ready by the end of January. 
I will let you know anyway. 

Bueno, y esta noche es una noche especial, sobre todo para los niños de España ya que llegan los Reyes Magos y creo que ahora justo están entrando en Madrid, así que me voy con mis peques para verlos. Que tengáis unos felices Reyes !!!

Well, tonight is a very special night in Spain, specially for children as it is Epiphany day and the Three Wise Men are arriving with presents for all the children. At this very moment they are arriving to Madrid so I have to go and share this magic with my children. Have a happy day !!
