Atardecer Poncho & Dublin & Northern Ireland Trip

As promised, here is my latest make. This is the Atardecer Poncho, pattern here

I made it with: 

Natura Just Cotton Yarn

Colour 03 Sable

Just over 2 skeins = 108 gr

4.5 mm hook

I love the colour as it goes with nearly everything, specially as lots of my summer clothes are white, sand, beige, etc. . .

Before I forget let me tell you I'm so excited as I have had my first 4 sales in my Etsy shop !! hurray !!

And now a few (just a few. . .) pictures of my last trip to Ireland and Northern Ireland. 

We went from Dublin to Belfast and stopped at Downpatrick Cathedral, where St. Patrick's remains are believed to be buried.

Antes de que se me olvide dejarme que os diga lo contenta que estoy ya que he tenido mis 4 primeras ventas en mi tienda Etsy !!! hurra !!

Y ahora, algunas fotos de mi ultimo viaje a Irlanda e Irlanda del Norte. 

Fuimos de Dublin a Belfast  paramos en la Catedral de Downpatrick, donde se cree reposan los restos de San Patricio. 

Apart from the Cathedral there is a lovely gift shop and cafe and the food is quite nice. 

Then we went on to Mount Stewart House & Gardens. 

The house is of neo-classical style and is currently undergoing a major restoration project.

Aparte de la catedral hay una agradable tienda de regalos y un cafe donde se come bien. 

Después visitamos la Casa y los Jardines de Mount Stewart. 

La casa de estilo neo-clasico esta en proceso de una gran restauracion. 

The gardens are so romantic and the sun was shinning for us so it looked even more beautiful. 

Los jardines son tan románticos . . . y el sol brillaba para nosotros así que estaban incluso mas bonitos

Giants Causeway, simply amazing. . . .

La Calzada del Gigante es simplemente increible . . .

We also went to Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge,

these are the cliffs seen on the way to Carrick-a-rede rope bridge

Tambien fuimos al puente de cuerda de Carrick-a-rede, 

y estos son los acantilados que se ven en el camino. . . 

I did not have the nerve to cross it. . . I did not feel brave enough, 

I'm more and more afraid of heights as I get older . . .

Yo no me sentí valiente para cruzarlo. . . según me hago mas mayor mas miedo

me dan las alturas. 

Then we returned to Dublin and visited Trinity College. . . 

Después volvimos a Dublin y visitamos Trinity College . . .

And the most amazing library I have ever seen. . .

Y su increíble biblioteca, una de las mas espectaculares que he visto. . .

Our Easter . . . and little makes

First I'd like to thank you for your sweet comments and give a huge welcome to my new followers and readers !! 

During Easter I had some time to make, make, make . .

and I made these little puff flowers, hearts,  not quite knowing the final destination for them. . .

Primero me gustaría dares las gracias por vuestros comentarios y dar una gran bienvenida a mis nuevas seguidoras y lectoras !!!

Durante la Semana Santa he tenido tiempo de hacer, hacer y hacer . . .

y he hecho estas pequeñas florecitas de punto piña (de puntos altos) que queda con mucha textura y 

muy abultado, también hice corazones pequeños, sin un objetivo final muy claro para todo ello . . .

Then I used them for this. . . that if you follow me in IG you might already know what it is. . . 

if not you will find out soon enough . . .  

Luego pense en usarlos para esto . . .si me seguís en Instagram ya sabréis lo que

es ya que lo comente allí primero, sino lo descubriréis muy pronto . . . 

 In this occasion I'm using Natura Just Cotton Yarn which is 100% cotton with a lovely mat finish in gorgeous colours. 

I have also made a Poncho, but I save that for another day to show you. 

And we had our Egg Hunt at Easter. . . this is not traditional in Spain and I never did this as a child, 

Easter is a very much religious holiday here traditionally although that is changing now a little bit.

This is what normally goes on in Spain villages, cities, suburbs, everywhere.
Weather you are a catholic or not, religious or not these are quite impressive to watch
especially the Procession of Silence:

En esta ocasión use el hilo de algodón Natura Just Cotton que es 100% algodón con acabado mate
y tiene colores preciosos. 

También he hecho un poncho que os enseñare otro día. 

Yyyy también tuvimos nuestra búsqueda de huevos de Pascua. . . esto no es algo 
tradicional aqui en España y yo nunca lo hice cuando era niña. 
La Semana Santa siempre ha sido mas religiosa en España aunque si que se están 
introduciendo nuevas tradiciones ahora como esta de la búsqueda de huevos. 

Esta foto de abajo os muestra lo que pasa normalmente en los pueblos y ciudades de España, en todos los sitios, las procesiones de Semana Santa y seas católico o no la verdad es que impresiona bastante verlas sobre todo la del Silencio:

However, as my husband is French and over there they do have this tradition and I love chocolate
we have incorporated the egg hunting into our family Easter traditions.

Como mi marido es Frances y allí si que tienen esta tradición de buscar los huevos de chocolate, hemos incorporado la tradición en nuestra familia.

 My parents have a place in the countryside with a garden and patio area and we did it over there. 

Those lilac flowers are my mum's lilac trees . . . if you could only smell them, they do give out a sweet fragrance. . . and that only unwinds me and relaxes me.

Mis padres tienen una casita en el campo con jardín y una zona de patio, así que lo hicimos allí. 
Esas lilas que veis son del lilo de mi madre. . . si pudierais olerlo ¡¡ tienen una fragancia bastante intensa pero muy sutil. . . y la verdad es que me hace desconectar del mundo y relajarme.

well. . . .last week (thursday) I had a small surgery (hysteroscopy) done and all went well, 

it was done under full anaesthesia but it was very short and I have no pain or discomfort. 

To be honest it was like I went to hospital to have a snooze (20 mins) and then back home, 2 hours after it I was home. 

Bueno . . . la semana pasada (jueves) me hicieron una pequeña operación (histeroscopia) y todo fue bien, fue con anestesia total pero fue muy corto y no tengo ningún dolor ni molestia postoperatoria.

Not because I'm hyper-maniac and have to try to promised pattern 100 times before I make it public . . . but because I lost one on a weekend excursion.

Hola !! 

Well, I've been away for a little while, work, life and family have kept me away from my blog. 

Also I have to admit since I am in Instagram I can tell more about my daily makes there, as it is very quick. 

You have the impression you have told the world . . . but nooo. . .

I have to tell my blogger friends, ha, ha !

He estado un poco alejada de mi blog por un tiempo. . . la vida, familia y el trabajo me han mantenido alejada. 

También debo admitir que desde que estoy en Instagram donde es tan fácil poner las cosas que hago en mi vida diaria, pues lo del blog me cuesta mas. Instagram es tan rápido !! 

Te da la impresión de que se lo he contado al mundo, pero noooo

. . .tambien tengo que contárselo a mis amigas blogueras !! ja,ja

 As you already know I have been experimenting with knitting and improving my basic knitting skills, and I have done this beauty !! 

It is a headband or earwarmer for my daughter, and then a crocheted flower. 

The yarn is Woolly DMC in color Soft Pink 042. I have knitted it with 2 strands of yarn on needles size 5mm. . . nice ah ?

(both yarn and knitting needles available at my Etsy shop :-))

Como ya sabéis he estado experimentando con el punto a dos agujas e intentando mejorar los conocimientos básicos que ya tenia, y hecho esta preciosidad !! 

Es una diadema o calentador de orejas a punto y una flor a ganchillo. 

La lana es Woolly DMC en color Rosa Suave 042. Lo he tejido con 2 hebras de lana y agujas del 5 . . . queda bonito, no ?

(tanto las agujas como la lana esta disponible en mi tienda Etsy :-))

This picture below I took it when I was experimenting. I learned to increase/decrease with a YouTube video (lots of them) but then wrote up a simple pattern myself. I wanted to give some texture to the headband and so I made those ribbed borders. The very soft pink one in the picture was the first one I made to learn increase/decrease. 

La foto de abajo fue hecha cuando estaba experimentando. Aprendí a aumentar / disminuir con un video de YouTube (hay muchísimos) pero después cree un patrón simple. Quería que la diadema tuviera algo de textura así que hice los bordes algo abultados. La diadema en el rosa pálido fue la primera que hice aprendí a aumentar y disminuir.

YEAR END REVIEW - Crochet & Sewing 2013

This is the first time I make a year end review and one of the reasons is because I have new followers who might have seen a picture or something I made but have not read the post. It is also a all-in-one place to go if you are ever looking for  something and also a good way for me to put my ideas in order. 

Let's start with what I made in crochet.

It seems number 1 (number 8 is the same blanket) was the star of the year, along with number 9 and lately number 11 has got very popular. 

Let's start: 

Esta es la primera vez que hago un resumen del año y una de las razones es porque tengo nuevos seguidoras que quizás hayan visto algo que haya hecho pero no han leído la entrada. También hace una entrada donde poder ver todo en un mismo sitio y una forma de poner mis ideas en orden.

Parece que el numero uno ha sido la estrella del año, junto al numero 9 y últimamente el numero 11 ha sido muy popular.

The starts of this year from my sewing were number 1 and number 6, but number one got more attention and so I gave it the place of honour !

So this was my Sewing in 2013. My sewing machine has been unused since September and my hands are very much itching to get into more sewing. Each time I look at the fabric stash (lots of Tilda Fabric in it) I want to start my daughter's quilt, but sewing takes so much preparation time and space that I have not found much time lately for it and dedicated much more to crochet. 

Crochet is something I always keep on the sofa and does not need much preparation, space, it is much more spontaneous I think !

But I'm happy with my sewing so far, if I take into account that I only bought my sewing machine in November 2012, and have everything to learn yet, which is pretty exciting !!

Esta fue mi costura en 2013. Mi maquina de coser ha estado sin usar desde Septiembre y la verdad es que estoy deseando cogerla y coser mas. Cada vez que miro las telas que compre este año para hacer una colcha para mi hija (sobre todo telas Tilda) quiero empezar la quilt (o colcha) para mi hija, pero la costura lleva tanta preparación y no he encontrado el tiempo últimamente así que he dedicado mucho mas tiempo al ganchillo.

El ganchillo es algo que siempre tengo a mano en el sofa, y lo puedo coger en cualquier momento, no necesita mucha preparación. 
Pero estoy contenta con mi costura también, sobre todo teniendo en cuenta que compre mi maquina en noviembre 2012, y aun me queda todo por aprender, lo que es muy emocionante !!

Now I wish you a HAPPY NEW YEAR 2014 full of health as I believe with health around us we can drive the rest !!

Ahora solo me queda desearos un MUY FELIZ AÑO 2014 lleno de salud, ya que creo que teniendo salud podemos conducir nuestra vida mejor !!

How are the celebrations going so far ?

We are now in France where we will celebrate the New Year and I'm getting a lot of hook time and so I did not manage to finish my daughter's hat at home but I made it here in 1 hour flat ! 

Here is the end result. 

As I mentioned in Instagram I did not follow any pattern for the hat or flower but if a few of you want the pattern I will write it.
It is really just a simple hat pattern and the flower I made it up as I went too. . .

Como van las celebraciones ?
Nosotros estamos en Francia donde celebraremos la NocheVieja con la familia de mi marido y la verdad es que estoy teniendo muchísimo tiempo para hacer ganchillo. 
No pude terminar el nuevo gorrito de mi hija en casa (allí siempre tengo mucho mas que hacer) pero en cuanto llegue a casa de mis suegros lo hice en 1 hora !!
Aqui tenéis el resultado. 
Como mencione en Instagram, no he seguido ningún patrón para el gorrito o la flor pero si unas cuantas me lo pedis pues escribiré el patron. 
Realmente es un patron simple de gorrito, y la flor me la fui inventando segun la iba haciendo tambien. . . 

 This is the Swishy Scarf like mine, but in lilac and shorter, for my daughter too.

Esta es la Bufanda Swishy, como la mia, pero en lila y mas corta, para mi hija. 

This is my new WIP. I'm making this blanket again but this time in 100% Merino Wool, and this time it will be given as a gift for a baby that will be born any minute now (my cousin's wife is due in January). 

Este es mi nuevo proyecto. Estoy haciendo esta manta de nuevo pero esta vez en Lana Merino 100%, y esta vez será un regalo para un bebe que va a nacer en cualquier momento (la mujer de mi primo sale de cuentas en Enero)

 and this is something lots of you are waiting for. . .

y esto es algo que muchas estáis esperando . . . 

I'm writing the pattern for the cable mittens, and for that I'm making myself new ones in a gorgeous aubergine colour. 

All the yarn in this post is Woolly DMC , extra soft merino 100% . . . I'm testing this yarn at the moment. 

I will tell you more about it in the new year. . .

Estoy escribiendo el patron para los mitones a punto de cable y para ello me estoy haciendo unos nuevos en un precioso color berenjena. 

Toda la lana que habéis visto en esta entrada es Woolly DMC, 100% merino extra suave . . . estoy probando esta lana con todos estos proyectos. 
Os contare mas en el nuevo año . . .
